I replaced the brake pads on the S10 since that lovey chorus of wear indicators started to play its high pitched tune. In my infinite wisdom I forgot to grease the slides on the left front caliper so now it’s sticking to the point where the truck is pulling itself damn near into oncoming traffic when I hit the brakes hard.
Dat lovely hot sheen
Gotta wait for it to cool now *grumble*

Make sure you use high-temp grease.
I had a sticking caliper even though I had greased it last time I did the brakes, which really confused me. The only thing I can figure is that during the last brake job, I might have used the leftover half of one of those little grease packets that sometimes comes with suspension parts, and maybe it just melted out.
I’ll never know for sure, but now I’m more careful to use the proper stuff so it doesn’t happen again.

Unlikely symptoms for that fault.

You’d think, but my M3 did the same thing when the slide pins gunked up. These were the original brakes on a 14 year old truck so there’s no saying when the last time anything down there has been greased.
